Jesse Lee Kercheval was born in France and raised in Florida. Her most recent books are Brazil (Cleveland State University Poetry Center, 2010), which won the Ruthanne Wiley Memorial Novela Award, and Cinema Muto (Southern Illinois University Press, 2009), a collection of poems about silent film which won a Crab Orchard Poetry Series Award. Her other works include the poetry collection Dog Angel and Space, a memoir about growing up near Cape Kennedy during the moon race, winner of the Alex Award from the American Library Association. Her work appears regularly in literary magazines in the U.S., the U.K., Canada, and Australia.
