Judge Wayne Lee Thomas has selected Last Look at Joburg by Steve Myers of Center Valley, PA as winner of our 2015 poetry chapbook contest. Last Look at Joburg, for which Myers will receive a $1,000 cash prize, will appear in TTR vol. 11/2015. Myers will also receive 10 artist copies of his winning chap produced by the English and Fine Arts departments at Tusculum College.

A long-time Pennsylvania resident who has also lived for extended periods in upstate New York, Glasgow, Scotland, and Rome, Italy, Steve Myers has previously published a full-length poetry collection, Memory’s Dog, and a chapbook, Work Site, in addition to a scholarly book and articles on modern poetry.  A past Pushcart Prize winner, his poems have appeared in many journals, including The Gettysburg Review, Great River Review, Rattle, The Southern Review, and Tar River Poetry. He is Professor of English at DeSales University in Center Valley, PA, where he teaches creative writing and a wide range of literature courses.

Wayne Lee Thomas, former TTR editor (from 2008 to 2014), writes fiction, plays, and nonfiction. He’s currently at work on the novel Birth of the Okefenokees–for which he received the 2013 Baltic Writing Residency in Latvia. With John E. Branscum, he is co-editor of Red Holler: Contemporary Appalachian Literature (Sarabande), winner of the Linda Bruckheimer Series in Kentucky Literature. Thomas teaches creative writing at Tusculum College.
