               shutting down

sweeping the aisles

turning off  the lights

the shop assistants telling me w/ their eyes

( they’d like to tell me w/ their voices

but they’re not allowed

to) “ if you’re going to buy

something buy it

now otherwise, please

go home” i take their advice

i’m shutting down too

not open to the public

no longer a going concern

 blind willie’s blues

 dog’s weather

 gone, like a sad old candle
